Epilar is a new and simple to use hair removal product that permanently reduces unwanted body hair, without side effects such as sores, burns and scars. For ten years a team of Danish doctors and biochemists have been working on the development of an enzyme-based product for the removal of unwanted hair growth. The product has now been tested successfully demonstrating its safety, efficiency with no side effects.
A hair removal treatment with Epilar is carried out after a traditional wax treatment by our professional beauty and skincare therapists. Epilar consists of 2 gels that are massaged into the waxed skin area.
How does Epilar Hair Removal work?
The enzyme Trypsin is a proteolytic protein used in the process of reducing hair growth. An enzyme is a specialized protein that facilitates a chemical process without affecting its own molecular structure. In Epilar the Trypsin acts directly on the protein in the cells of the hair follicles. A protein is a complex organic substance made by combining more than ten amino acids, being the most abundant substances found in cells and consisting of more than 50% of the cells’ dry weight.
What does Epilar contain?
Epilar consists of two gels. The first being the Inhibitor and the other the Activator – the products are applied to the wax treated area immediately after waxing.
It is very important that the gels are applied immediately after the wax treatment where the follicle openings are most open and receptive.
Who can be treated with Epilar?
Everyone can be treated with Epilar assuming the individuals skin type has no aversions to waxing. It is not necessary to give special consideration to skin, hair or colour types. Dark or light, thick or thin, it all goes!
The only requirement is that the length of the hairs is at a minimum of 5.5mm, ensuring an efficient wax treatment. It is also important that the visible hair is removed by the roots, leaving the follicles empty. This enables the Epilar system to enter the empty follicle openings, allowing the protein destruction to begin.
What results can be expected?
In order to destroy as much of the hair growth as possible, it is advised to undergo up to 12 treatment sessions. This of course also depends on which area of the body being treated. The clinical testing has proven that a person needs between 5 to 12 treatments to obtain a satisfactory result. Both growth cycles and quantity of hair follicles vary in different parts of the body. In addition, the amount of body hair per individual also varies, as this is hereditary and therefore genetically predetermined. In order to achieve the best results it is important to maintain regularity during the whole treatment period.
